An old wooden fence divides the desert to keep the cattle in the western grazing lands. This is a digital painting from a photo of the side of an old cattle chute on the Sonoran desert in Arizona.

Great digital art that brings up thoughts of the old west and cowboys herding cows.

Today’s featured art is Have a Creepy Halloween! by Brandi Liebmann

This painting is a great Halloween scene with a witch on a broomstick flying through the star filled sky with a full moon showing between hills. A spooky dead tree sits on one hill while a haunted house is on another. Jack-o-Lanterns and other Halloween decor add to the scene.

Today’s featured art is Rocky! by Robert Eaves

Seeing this black and white photo of a squirrel with the title ‘Rocky!’ my first though was ‘Rocky the Flying Squirrel.’

Then… when reading the photographer’s comment ‘Yes Rocky has a mean left hook!’ I see it’s probably Rocky the fighter. The pose certainly fits a fighter.

It’s a great black and white photo and title even if my first thoughts were about the wrong Rocky.

Fog floats above water in the Mississippi river at dawn while reflections from trees on the far bank seem to be floating in the water beyond weeds floating by the near bank.

This photo was taken on a morning walk from the river bank looking downstream as the water flows by my farm in north central Minnesota.
