Butterfly photos

Today’s featured art gallery is Butterflies by Shawn Ingram.

Butterflies are such lovely creatures with all their varied colors and the way they flitter through the air. Isn’t in amazing to see a butterfly perched on a flower or stem and slowly opening and closing it’s colorful wings? It’s often hard to take your eyes off them since they are so pretty and captivating.

Our butterfly gallery contains photographs of the various species of butterflies we have come across over the years. One of the more interesting insects (in my opinion), the butterfly comes in a wide variety of shapes and colors. Most of our shots of these beautiful insects are shot with either a long telephoto lens from a distance or a shorter zoom with macro functionality.

This is just a small sampling of our overall collection. We will be adding many, many more butterfly photos in the weeks to come.

Unfortunately, getting these critters to open their wings to display the wonderful blue on the top side of their wings. You can barely see a hint of the blue on the top edge where this common blue morpho's wings meet.
