Landscape Paintings
Today’s featured art gallery is Landscape by Vivien Blackburn.
What great paintings from the area around Leicestershire, England. Trees and scenery fill these lovely prints and would be nice artwork to hang on the wall.

These are usually local landscapes - the countryside around Leicestershire, a pretty county with rolling hills, patchwork fields and woods.
Most are plein air but larger canvasses are painted in the studio and often abstracted.
more work can be seen on http://www.vivienblackburn.com and my blog http://vivienb.blogspot.com/, where you can see works in progress and discussions about the work.
a path through the rocks, first snow and the world looks blue and white.
Swithland Woods in Autumn in a mix of watercolour and pastel. These local woods are ancient and in autumn the colours are beautiful.
A charcoal drawing done plein air (balancing precariously on a tree branch over water and gooey mud at the edge of the stream!) of the ancient 15C packhorse bridge across the marshy water meadows. You can read more about it and it's history on my blog http://vivienb.blogspot.com/ under the tag Waterways.
The view from the top of Beacon Hill, the light kept changing and at one point lit up the nearby line of trees so they glowed apricot against the shadowed land. Further away there was sunlight on a patch of fields, glowing against the dark cloudy sky.
The old Victorian canal bridge over the canal at Aylestone - nearby is the 15C packhorse bridge shown in a charcoal drawing shown in this gallery.
Golden autumn light on hills and woods tumbling down a ravine.
