Brixworth Church – Winter by Colin Bailey

Sunday, January 11th, 2009

Today’s featured art is Brixworth Church – Winter by Colin Bailey

Here’s a nice Digital Painting of All Saints Church Brixworth. The steeple stretches into the sky with birds flying over the roof. Gravestones are in the foreground. It could almost be a spooky Medieval scene, if it was just a bit darker, and dusk was falling.

The church is a Medieval building from around 680 AD and is the largest surviving Anglo Saxon Building in England.

The Golden Hind by Edward Kinnally

Today’s featured art is The Golden Hind by Edward Kinnally

This is a great, almost surreal, artwork with a distant ship (The Golden Hind) surrounded by swirling multi-colored clouds and reflections off the water. What a beautiful panorama!

This is a limited run piece of art, as the artist is limiting the number of prints to 100. You do have a choice of many different sizes, papers, or canvas to get a print on. And… Any print from Imagekind gives you lots and lots of framing options.

Loxly Gallery Giclee Print Review

Tuesday, January 6th, 2009

I received a package from Loxly Gallery today with a 13 x 17 inch giclee print. It arrived by Priority Mail in nice sturdy cardboard.

I found the giclee print inside stunning. It’s a fantasy / science fiction work by Elizabeth Edwards.

My photograph really doesn’t do it justice. The detail and colors, of the planet and swirling nebula are amazing. Great artwork and a great print.

This close up clipping from the photo shows some of the detail. The detail shows much better when seeing it in person.

You can compare these photos to how the art is show on Loxly Gallery…

And… For a bit of perspective on the print’s size… A photo with a model artfully directing your attention to the print, seemed appropriate. Not having a lovely professional model handy… I pretended to show off the print like a good looking model would. :P

Now I need to find a frame and get the print in it, in order to show it off!

To sum things up… A Thumbs Up, for both Loxly Gallery and artist Elizabeth Edwards! :D

Award Winning Rhino Ruminations by Kinnally

Today’s featured art is Rhino Ruminations by Edward Kinnally

This Rhino is such a fine interesting artwork that it was the overall winner of 1stAngel’s online 2008 Animal Art contest. It’s easy to see why it did so well.

It looks like an amazing amount of detail and intricate work has gone into creating a captivating image out of little blocks. It makes me think of mosaic work done with small tiles.

Congratulations Edward, and to the rest of the winners in 1stAngel’s in the Animal Art contest.

Space Pearl digital art by Elizabeth Edwards

Saturday, November 29th, 2008

Today’s featured art is Interplanetary Pearl by Elizabeth Edwards

A bright pearl like planet perches above a nebula of green space dust in this fantasy digital art piece. I can imagine a science fiction story where space explorers come upon such a scene. How could such a nebula come about, and what makes the planet so bright and white… Could it be snow, clouds, some weird atmospheric effect. What about the green nebula… Is it some weird magnetic effect, caused by a solar wind, or maybe gravitational effects.

It’s a beautiful scene for the imagination to contemplate and would be a nice framed print!

Prices for Interplanetary Pearl begin at $40.00, subject to change.

Golden Blossom digital art by Kinnally

Friday, November 28th, 2008

Today’s featured art is Blossom #1 by Edward Kinnally

An attractive piece of digital art in shades of gold that could be open petals of a flower blossom. The blossom standing upright with it’s curving shapes and golden shades is very eye catching. What an interesting framed print this would make!

Prices for prints of Blossom #1 begin at $283.49, subject to change.
