Lovely Rural Scenes

Sunday, April 13th, 2008

Today’s featured art gallery is Farmlands by Ken Duffin.

I really like these paintings of barns, farms, and rural scenes. The artist has captured the beauty and spirit of life in the country very well with great artwork.

Farmland is most inviting to me as a artist. The setting is natural. The combination of buildings, trees and surouding land always make for a picture. Barns are some of artists favorite subjects, and old barns mostly. You don't see many paintings of new barns. Age adds character, just as in people. The same setting can make many paintings, depending on the lighting, morning or afternoon, the sky, the viewing angle, any number of possibities. I am always visualizing potential paintings when I drive through farmland, every where I look. These paintings are a few that I was able to capture.

Today’s featured art gallery is Digipaintings by Colin Bailey.

Great digital art of animals and scenery created from photographs fill this gallery. I’m partial to nature and rural scenery. The cows and sheep grazing, plus scenes from the countryside captured my attention right off.

Fun in the Snow

Monday, December 31st, 2007

Today’s featured art is Fun in the Snow 1233 by Kent Lorentzen

My dog (Raven) is having fun running in a snow covered hay field on a crisp December morning. She has her nose covered with snow from checking out fresh smells and is kicking up a puff of powdery snow with her legs.

Raven is a mix of German Shepherd, Norwegian Elkhound, and English setter. She lives on a small farm in north central Minnesota and enjoys running and exploring her farm.

Prices for Fun in the Snow 1233 begin at $16.90, subject to change.

A Farm in Winter

Monday, December 10th, 2007

Today’s featured art is Winter Snow on a mid West Wales Hill Farm by Edward McNaught-Davis

This is a great print of an oil painting with a winter scene showing a hill farm after a snow in mid-west Wales, UK.

The colors and shadings of the snow and clouds are wonderful. A hint of orange in the sky, dark blue shadows, and nearly black buildings make a great painting.

Prices for Winter Snow on a mid West Wales Hill Farm begin at $22.92, subject to change.
