Today’s featured art is Lerwick Harbour by David Hodges

A Viking longboat floats in Lerwick harbor, Shetland Isles in this photo. I like the mirror smooth water reflecting a cloudy sky. The buildings on the other side of the harbor have that old world look to them. Almost makes me think maybe the Vikings are off having a party and rollicking good time while their longboat sits waiting for their return.

Today’s featured art is Narrowboats at Cropredy by Colin Bailey

The Oxford canal with narrowboats moored along the sides makes a pretty scene in this photo. Green from trees reflects off the water with a bright red narrowboat casting a spot of red reflection amongst all the green.

Much of England has canals, which at one time carried goods from one location to another. They were a very important part of transportation. Today, narrowboats are used mostly for recreation or as homes.

Today’s featured art is Kylie’s Chance by Kevin Webster: 72 kilowatts

A nice picture from the harbor at Kennebunk with the whale watching boat Kylie’s Chance. Scenes with water and boats can be very peaceful and restful, like this one. The smooth water gives nice reflections of masts from a couple of sailboats that are also tied up near Kylie’s Chance.

A lovely reflection of colorful trees off blue lake waters in front of a blue sky is the highlight of this photo. I’m partial to photos of water, trees, and reflections, this photo combines them all in a wonderful composition.

What a lovely print this would be to get framed and hang on the wall.

Today’s featured art is Sydney Harbour Bridge Sunset by Christopher Chan

This sunset is stunning! The orange sun is under the Sydney Harbor Bridge with orange light reflecting off the harbor waters. The colored clouds and and silhouettes of buildings across the harbor combine to make a truly beautiful image.

If this is what Australian sunsets look like… I want to hop on a plane and go see them!

Today’s featured art is Linda Lee Bouchard Tugboat by Vincent O’Hare

Interesting art with bright colors depicting the Linda Lee Bouchard tugboat in New York Harbor off the coast of Manhattan, done in a fauvist style.

The bold colors and distortion are characteristic of fauvism, which was a short lived movement in the early 20th century.

What matters to me, is not how long a artistic movement lasted but the results of art done in that style. And… I like the results as shown in this artwork.
